Notes: I'll be playing her post canon, so I've run into a bit of a snag. Post canon, she is in fact a duck. Would coming to the university mysteriously turn her back into a girl? I wasn't sure, so let me know how this would work out best for you guys. :D
Sample Post: Ahiru stumbled across th new campus, adjusting to her now human legs. Having been a duck again for almost a year now walking as a human was proving difficult. However she was quickly regaining her usual, though awkward walk.

Her thoughts were a bit torn at the moment as she tried to find her way to the dorm. She was happy to explore a new place, and what more as a human girl, but she felt bad for leaving Fakir behind. Already she was missing the grumpy ex-knight and his warm, comfy lap she would sit in night after night. She had tried to tell him about the strange letter she had recieved and while their communication had gotten better there was only so much she could tell him.

As she thought about it she wondered if it may have been a relief for him not to have to bother with the 'stupid little duck', but right away she knew that wasn't right. While he wouldn't admit it he was probobly really worried. She hoped not too much though. Ahiru frowned a bit and sighed.

"I'm sure I'll see him soon. Yeah! And he'll yell at me for doing such a stupid thing," she said mocking his usual frown. "Yes, that's what will happen."

Character Name: Sorbet Frost
Character Series: Magical Starsign
Notes: -Sorbet is from the Baklava solar system; specifically, Kovomaka, the 6th planet from their sun (which is named Nova.) The conditions there are almost exactly like earth, except the fact that the planets are very close together, so one can see the planets clearly, even during the day. The lack of visible planets might disturb her just a little bit.

-Sorbet uses Water magic. There are two types, Wild magic (which requires almost no effort, besides a shortish incarnation which I can't find. >| argh) and Combative magic (More specialized, with more effort needed.) Wild magic needs water to be near in order to be used, but not Combative magic. (I don't know why.)

-Sorbet's rather...moody. She can go from pleased, sarcastic and "know-it-all"ish, to depressed, introverted, and snappish. (AND EMO *shot*) Normally it's a mix. (By the way- During the course of the game, she goes from "yea okay whatever" to "you guys are idiots seriously" to "we're all going to die no matter what we do" I'm taking her out of the canon before she gets to that last point though. JUST A RANDOM DAY ON THE ROCKET HAY WHAT A SCHOOL THAT DOESN'T COST MONEY OKAY SWEET)

-By the way, she and hotheaded characters USUALLY don't mix. Unless forced to mix. Or said character stalks her enough. X3

-Oh! One more thing! If poor Sorbet gets a cold, she can't use Combative magic at all. Also, she probably won't be hurt much by fire-aligned magic, but Earth/Ground (not plants, I mean like dirt/metal) will REALLY pack a punch.

Sorbet had a rather puzzled look on her face. "A dance? Seriously?" She paused for a second, trying to visualize it in her head. 'I've never been to a dance...' Muttering to herself, she shuffled around the small dorm, gathering up some random things. 'I'll need a dress...can even I afford one? Should I just make one? I wonder when it is, where it'll be, who I'll go w-'

She sopped in her tracks. Oh, she KNEW who she'd be going with. She knew who'd be bugging her every day. And even if he didn't, she knew that now he would come to mind every time the dance was mentioned. "D-darn it, Pico..." She muttered, setting the small armful of items on her bed.

(Oh gosh I thought I lost this YAY =D =D =D My computer turned off when I was typing, but I somehow managed to save this post~)

Character Name: Harada Riku
Character Series: DNAngel
Notes: Riku is one half(and the eldest) of the Harada twins. But simply being part of a set of twins doesn't mean that she and her sister are alike at all. On the contrary, Riku couldn't be farther from her sister in the sense of interests and even fashion sense.

Riku likes nothing more than to play sports, track and field and lacrosse, especially. She rides a bicycle to and from school every day, not to mention that she has at least at least one sport to practice for every day after school. Her sister's incessant obsession with fashion couldn't be more lost on Riku, since she tends to wear pants and a T-shirt, but never really anything fancy.

Sample Post:
A nasty, buzzing alarm sounded off in Riku's room, ripping her from the pleasant dream she was having. Grumbling, she opened her eyes to see her red hair flailing out in front of them. With a gush of breath, she pushed the hair away from her eyes and sighed, stretching out on her bed for a moment. 5:30 A.M.

Slowly, she threw the covers off of her body and leaned over the side of her bed, yawning into the back of her hand. Time for a run... She was sure her roommate hated the fact that Riku was up at this time, every morning, no matter what, but honestly she didn't care. She was going to run whether it work her roommate up or not, because that was just what she did. Besides, her roommate had never complained so there was no reason to think that she hated it anyway. She probably was still sleeping like a brick in her own bed.

Hopping out of bed, she pulled her short hair back into a short ponytail and moved to her closet, opening the doors. Exchanging her baggy shirt and pajama shorts for a pair of mesh athletic shorts and a white T-shirt, she headed for the door. A good morning run always woke her up, even if everyone else seemed to think it was crazy to wake up at 5:30 just for a run.

Notes: Taken from the ship traveling to Japan, just before the attack by the level 3 akuma.

Sample Post: I've never been much for moping.

I feel that even when times are tough, I need to push forward if I ever want to be able to completely protect my companions. If someone is hurt, I do what I can to help heal them. If someone dies, I continue to fight in their honor. Even if things look completely impossible, I feel like I have to try or else I'll never forgive myself.

However, this time, I almost gave in. How could we know for sure if Allen was alive or not? Sure, Komui-nii-san told us he was alive, but the fact that we couldn't even go back to retrieve him made me doubt, if only for an instant. I hated the thought of him somewhere, his Innocence shattered, all alone. It made me think back to when I was first taken to the church, and that was something that no one should have to experience. And of course, Allen is our precious friend. He's only been with us for a short time, but he's managed to wiggle his way into our hearts.

I think I finally came back to myself in the shower. After I had washed the blood and gunk from my hair, I turned the water off and leaned against the tiled wall of the shower. I hated myself for being like this. I felt like a piece of my heart had been forcefully ripped out of me, and I was helpless to repair it. Slapping my cheeks, I pushed myself up and stepped out of the shower. As I pulled on my new uniform from the Church, I carefully watched my reflection in the mirror. I slowly zipped up the top, and the silver cross that adorned the left shoulder shone in the light from the small window. Suddenly, I realized it! THIS was why I was fighting! I have the power to change things and this cross is the symbol of that power! I have the power to protect those dear to me! Despite the fact that I am selfishly fighting for my own definition of "the world", I have been given this power for a reason, and the only thing I can do is continue to fight for my world, and trust that Allen will do the same and return to us.

As I rushed out of the bathroom, I let a smile and a small giggle escape me. I knew Lavi would totally give me hell for being so mopey. I can avoid him on this huge ship and let myself feel this elation for a bit longer. But for now, I need a hair band.

Character Name: Harada Risa
Character Series: DNAngel
Notes: Harada Risa is the second half (and youngest) of the Harada twins. She is nothing like her sister, though. Although she has almost the same body-type as Riku, she is much less not at all athletic. Risa enjoys anything fluffy, pink, and soft. She often wears dresses and skirts instead of shorts that Riku tends to favor. While Riku spends her free time playing sports and training, Riku enjoys reading tarot cards and has recently taken up the idea of becoming the love of Dark Mousy's life.

Risa tends to speak before she thinks and that can get her into trouble sometimes. She doesn't have the affinity for cooking that her sister does and she doesn't notice it, but sometimes she uses people. She's co-dependent as opposed to her sister's independent nature and takes pride in her appearance much more than Riku does.


i. Your character finds themselves down at the beach when one of the storms rolls in.

Riku had been sitting on the sand of the beach, watching the waves lap at the shore and darken the sand ever so slightly. She smiled, letting the wind ruffle the hem of her white cotton dress. Slowly, she fell back onto the sand, letting the warmth of it flow through her skin and deeper into her body.

She was awake before she even knew she had drifted off, and whatever had woken her was NOT something she was used to. A loud clap of thunder echoed around her, causing her to jump in fright. It was dark now, the sky brooding with the threat of the coming storm. "Oh no...I've got to get inside." Her voice was high, as always, and slightly breathy.

Scrambling up, She pulled her sandals up off the sand and started rushing toward the school, holding on to her oversized floppy straw hat with one hand as she ran. Halfway to the school, she stopped to regain her breath and was suddenly drenched in a huge wave of rain from the sky. Squeaking with shock, she started running again, tears of frustration in her eyes. "Why didn't anyone tell me it was going to rain today?!"

Character Name: Neku Sakuraba
Character Series: TWEWY (The World Ends With You)
Notes: I'm picking up the character after the game ends and the credits roll, he finally meets his friends outside the game. When the game starts out, Neku is a antisocial teen. He believes he is the only important person in the world, as a result of this, he has no friends, and doesn't really listen to anyone. He has a great love for art and music, and usually hangs out in the back streets of Udagawa. Although this is him in the beginning, he begins to show that he likes people more than at the beginning of the game later on. He even (eventually) likes helping other players and people around the town. After he plays the first week of the game, he gains a little more liking towards people and his partner, but doesn't learn to trust his partners, and eventually people, until the second week with Joshua.
Sample Post: No pins? No loud noises, its a lot more.. quiet here. Mr. Mew, I don't think we're in Shibuya anymore. Beat is here, that's one similarity, but where the hell is everyone else? We all just met up, so shouldn't we have gotten here at the same time? That's pretty screwed up.

What's up with everyone though? Their clothes are different, but hell, I would think Shibuya would make me immune to "weird clothes." I'm sure Shiki would think they're great, not like she's seen any style like this.

Who brought me here anyway? I'm gonna take a wild guess and say Joshua or Mr. H. Thanks for the invite to the party and all, but I gotta ditch. I need to take Beat with me too, Rhyme would be pretty ticked if I didn't bring him back.

Notes: Sweet, upbeat, and stylish would best describe Shiki Misaki. She plays the Reapers Game, which consists of seven mission-based days for a second chance of life. She is always seen with her plush cat, Mr. Mew, who she created as her first sewing project and now dreams of becoming a fashion designer.
Sample Post: "Ooooh... where am I? How did I get here?" Shiki asked to no one in particular. One minute, she was shopping at 104 and the next she ended up in what was probably a whole different world. Who wouldn't be bewildered? As long as she had her black plush cat, Mr. Mew with her, she was all right.

Somehow Shiki had managed to get a dorm room at this school without much of a problem thanks to a letter she woke up with. 'At least the uniforms look cute...' she thought while looking through her closet. The stores were probably nothing like they were in Shibuya, which ment she may have to find means to make a new wardrobe for herself, which was no problem so long as she had the right materials. The dress, blouse, and skirt that hung before her probably wouldn't last her too long... plus it'd be gross to constantly have to wear the same thing. "Ewww..."

The teen walks over to the dorm room window, drawing back the curtains, and takes a look outside. The scenery was quite beautiful, very different from Shibuya. She didn't have a clue to what classes she'd have when offically enrolled, so locating a staff memember would most likely be in her best interest. "It's going to be an interesting day..." she sighed. As she watched the crowds, she saw an unmistakable hairstyle and set of headphones. She felt her heart skip a beat from excitement. "Is that...!?"

Character Name: Rhyme Bito
Character Series: The World Ends With You
Notes: Rhyme is Beat's younger sister. Before arriving in Shibuya's UG, she had many different dreams and aspirations, whoever no one knows exactly what they are because they mysteriously disappeared once she entered the UG.

She is generally an upbeat girl full of hope for others despite the fact that her dreams and aspirations are no longer present. She tends to stay calm, the polar opposite of her brother Beat, in a crisis and is not afraid to sacrifice herself for the good of others.

She has blue eyes and short blonde hair and generally wears a beanie type hair which mashes her hair down close to her face. Her apparel consists of a long, oversized, red knit sweater with a modified skull and cross bones in black on the front, white, slightly oversized cargo shorts, a pair of yellow and black high top sneakers with white laces, and a copper bell pendant necklace.
((I intend to pick her up at the end of the game, where she remembers that Beat is her brother and her love for him is back, but she still has no aspirations or dreams of her own).

[[Journal]] Weird...I've never been inside a big black bunny before. I don't really think I ever want to again. But this school looks really interesting, actually!

The letter says I get an allowance. I hope there are places to buy designers. I feel weird now that my clothes are all different. At least I still have my pendant. I'd be really upset if I didn't have it. Beat gave me that and I wouldn't want to loose it for the world.

Speaking of which...Beat? Are you here? I haven't seen you for a day or so, so...maybe...? I don't know, though. I know you had a fight with our parents again and I went to look for you, but I couldn't find you...so maybe you're here instead? That'd be so great!


[[Thread]] Beat didn't get to experience the ocean very often, so when she found out that this campus had a beach, she rushed down to it instantly. Kicking her shoes off into the sand, she rushed to the water, giggling as she went. Rhyme usually had this kind of smile plastered on her face, but there was something about the sparkling sun and the fresh air that seemed to make her smile all the happier.

She dipped her toes into the water, laughing as it rushed around her and slightly made her feet sink into the wet sand when it pulled itself back out to sea. She stood there for a while, watching the sun in the skin as a dark, dark cloud came closer and closer. "I guess it's time to head back in..Wouldn't want to get caught in the rain and get electrocuted."

Begrudgingly, she pulled her feet one by one out of the sand and scampered over to her shoes, picking them up in her hands as she hurried back into the dorms. However, instead of going to her dorm, she made her way to the boy's side and knocked on the door to the room where her brother stayed. "Beat? Beat, are you there? It's gonna thunderstorm and I want to know if you're ok in there by yourself."

Character Name: Atem (Yami no Yuugi)
Character Series: Yuugiou
Notes: Atem is the spirit of an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh. His soul ended up with no memories, stuck in the Sennen Puzzle, and when a boy called Yuugi put ithe Puzzle together he and Atem began sharing a body. They go around, playing cards and kicking ass, until they collect all the weird requirements to go into Atem's 'Memory World', where they kick more ass and Atem regains his memories and his name. He's still just a spirit, but I think he would be covered under the Alter Ego rules? I would link to the wiki entry for him, but it's so BAD. D:

I was thinking of setting Atem right at the end of the series. He's regained his memories, and through some magic is given his own body for a short time, and at the very end of the series he walks through the door to the afterlife and disappears. The mention of going through a door and appearing on campus made me think maybe this would be an excellent way for it to happen in this case; he goes through and instead of the afterlife shows up on campus? I don't know if he'd count as a 'dead character' or not, seeing as he's a. already dead and now corporeal (temporarily, at least) and he walks straight into the afterlife rather than 'dying' again. @_@ It's your call, obviously.

Note on age, since I saw something about it, canonically he's in stasis at about 15-16. However, much of the fandom ignores this entirely, favoring him at about 17. If it makes things easier, I'll go with the latter age (it fits him better anyway.)

Sample Post: Atem looked up at the sky, shielding his eyes from the bright sunlight and frowning slightly in contemplation before glancing around again at his surroundings. The coastline was quite beautiful, if completely unfamiliar; he wasn't entirely sure how he'd ended up on this shore. In fact, he wasn't sure at where 'this shore' was.

He followed it a short way, having no other indications of where to go, but as he was quickly getting no where he turned towards the mainland and began walking again. He wasn't particularly worried about having no idea where he was--it happened relatively often, after all--but he did hope he would find something or someone sooner rather than later.

Being completely alone was an unusual feeling, and though not unnerving, it was a bit strange. Normally sharing a body with someone and being surrounded at almost all times by a group of friends, it was very... Quiet, to be wandering around without anyone accompanying him.

Lost in thought about his situation, he walked eastward for some time before buildings came into view. Spurred forward by the sight he came to a stop when he reached the nearest building, and carefully opened the door.

Leaning into the hall, he glanced around before beginning in a random direction. Soon he reached the main lobby, complete with a desk and someone who looked as though they knew what was going on.

'Good.' He thought, heading towards the desk. 'It's time to get some answers.'

Approved! Atem will be a bit of a cross between an alter-ego and a dead character, so while he'll have his own body, when he leaves campus he'll have a choice to make as same as the other dead characters.

Notes: Background? Miranda is a clumsy and rather depressing spaz. And she has lost over one hundred jobs to date... This shall certainly be interesting.

P.S.- I am going to use Miranda after she has become an Exorcist, because I think being able to momentarily reverse time is epic.
Sample Post: Oh dear... This really isn't good. I've been searching all day for anyone I know, but have only succeeded in getting lost. Again.

Where is Allen? Or Lenalee? Or anyone? I've heard rumors that there was another Exorcist here but no one seems to know anything.

I'm probably being such a burden though, what with my constant nagging for help... Ooh... Maybe I should just go away and leave everyone alone. It's about the only useful thing I could do, anyway. I've never managed to help anyone in my twenty-six years of life, after all...

...I really should go to sleep. I haven't slept in six days. But oh well, I'll be fine I've gone for longer. I don't need sleep.

Notes: Chi has no memory before that night. When Hideki started her up, Chi was restarted, whiping out all of her memories of her former life. After her reinstallation, Chi has a difficulty in communication, only able to repeat the word "chi". Hideki decides to give her this name, and took it upon himeslf to teach Chi about life.

It turned out that Chi was a suspected candidate for the "Chobits" series, a super-computer that can supposedly function outside programming. Minoru discovered that Chi had a form of AI and had to be taught to perform everyday tasks like speaking. Chi learns quickly, gaining the ability to hold a conversation in a short amount of time. It was around this time when "Dark Chi" began her visits. Whenever this happens, Chi goes into a trance-like state.

With money tight, Chi got a job at a bakery helping customers. On her way to work one day, Chi was kidnapped by Yoshiyuki, aka Dragonfly. As he was attempting to break her defenses, Yoshiyuki attempted to grope Chi, causing "Dark Chi" to intervene. When Hideki came, "Dark Chi disappeared, leaving Chi to pass out.

Chi has a very child-like personality, but is kind and thoughtful. Due to her programming, she tends to mimick others.

W-where is Chi? Chi doesn’t know this place. There is sand and water where Chi is. Hideki told Chi about this. Hideki said this place is called a beach. But Hideki isn’t here. There is no one here.

Chi was going to work at the bakery. Chi remembers seeing a white rabbit. It looked similar to the one in Chi’s books. Chi thought someone must have lost it, so Chi went to pick it up and find who lost their rabbit. Next thing Chi knows Chi is here.

Oh-no. The water is getting bigger, and the wind is blowing hard against Chi. Chi does not like this place. Hideki, please help Chi. Find Chi please.

Notes: Mai's the standard kick-butt and take names chick of any anime series. She's blond, brazen, and... Busty? She knows what she wants and goes for it.

She's a main character in Yuugiou, but not an especially important one. She mostly serves as an extra duelist for moving the plot along (as if this show didn't have enough characters.) However, she also provides excellent character interaction, guidance/growth to other characters, and brings a healthy dose of girl power.

I'll be taken her from the end of the series, to match with Atem, though as she wasn't there for the ceremonial duel she's just goofing off somewhere in Domino city and knows nothing of the stuff that went down.

Mostly, I'm applying for her because I've wanted to play Mai in an RP for awhile, there seems to be a lot of girl-centric plots/interaction in this RP (which is awesome! Most RPs I'm in, being YGO, are very male character-based), and since Atem hasn't integrated with the group too much yet I want someone who can be a little more active right now.

Here I was, minding my own business (can't a girl go for a health-conscious jog in peace?) and this obviously extremely brazen rabbit runs into the path and won't get out. I'm trying to go around it, and it suddenly gets huge and swallows me.

I've seen some weird stuff, kids, but that is just strange.

And now I'm here, and supposed to be going to school? I don't think so. I finished school some time ago, and I have no intention of going back. As though I don't already know what I need to know. It's gotten me this far, after all.

Notes: Overall, Bakura is not that hard to understand (or is he?). He enjoys tormenting others (this man likes BLOOD), eating steak, and wreaking general havoc whenever possible. Due to his past life as the self-proclaimed "King of Thieves" in Egypt, he is also a bit of a kleptomaniac.

I am placing him just after the Battle City Tournament, after Malik has been defeated and those he sent to the Shadow Realm are released. Since Bakura was one of those released, he will not be in Ryou's body and, therefore, will NOT have the Sennen Ring... Which will NOT make him a happy Egyptian. So everyone be prepared.

Wandering about this strange, dead-end island was not getting him anywhere. Why did this sort of thing have to happen now?! Going from the rather dull Shadow Realm to somewhere with potential pawns for entertainment was not necessarily a bad thing, but it would be a much BETTER thing if the man had his Ring in his possession. And his host... That might be helpful as well.

A perterbed scowl crossing his face, the spirit stalk about what seemed to be a courtyard, hands shoved into his pockets. He had already questioned, pestered, and even threatened several staff members, but had received little or no help whatsoever... He had only received a letter...

"You wouldn't have been able to come here at all if there wasn't something in this place for you to learn..."

Approved! Just to reiterate, Bakura falls under a combination of the 'dead' and 'alter-ego' rules in the FAQ, same as Atem. So he will have his own real, physical body. Feel free to have him notice that and make of it what he will.

Character Name: Tsuzuki Asato
Character Series: Yami no Matsuei
Notes: Tsuzuki, a 97 year old Shinigami, acts like a ten year old. (He looks the same as he did when he died at age 26) He loves sweets and food of any kind and basically goofs off all of the time. Despite the fact that Tsuzuki is one of the most powerful Shinigami in his department (he can summon 12 shikigami and use ofuda), he normally just plays around and doesn't do his job. This is why he never managed to keep a partner for very long (all Shinigami must work in teams) and never got out of debt. He also has a major problem with destroying things, unintentionally of course. (He managed to blow up the library twice in 11 volumes.) Tsuzuki had an awful childhood where he was an outcast surrounded by death (though it isn't discussed very much). Many people consider him to not be fully human since he has purple eyes and heals very quickly (the healing is mainly because he is a Shinigami). Before his suicide, he survived for eight years with no food, water, or sleep. He cares deeply for other people; sometimes too much since he is willing to sacrifice his life to save those he cares about.
Sample Post:(Tsuzuki's possible arrival at the school) "Hisoka? Hisoka where on earth did you go?" Tsuzuki called aloud as he wandered down a deserted beach. "You know we aren't allowed to be alone! Hisoka! This isn't funny!" Tsuzuki whined. "I don't wanna be alone!" He sniffled and ran a hand across his eyes. Just moments ago he and his partner, Hisoka, had been leaving for a mission to the world of the living. Another soul hadn't arrived in the world of the dead as planned so of course they were off to determine why. Only this place didn't look right, not according to Tsuzki. Not right at all. Especially since Hisoka wasn't around. Of course, anyone looking on would think that Tsuzuki was out of place as well. After all, who went to the beach dressed in a black suit and tie with a long black trench coat? His stomach rumbled and Tsuzuki flopped down on the sand with a sigh. "I'm hungry..." he mumbled to himself. He stared out at the sky for a few moments, lost in his own empty thoughts. Tsuzuki's eyes suddenly lit up and he jumped to his feet, clapping his hands together in delight. "A fish! That's it!" He tossed his coat and jacket aside before rolling up his sleeves. He hurried out into the water in search of some lunch. Not surprisingly, Tsuzuki didn't notice the large wave heading toward him. (He was very one minded when it came to food) The sound finally caught his attention and he looked up just in time to make an "Oh crap" expression and get swept off his feet. When the wave receded he was clinging to the cliff face for dear life. "Ah... Hisoka where are you?! Hisoka! Come save me Hisoka!" he sobbed. Typical Tsuzuki... getting himself into a situation that he couldn't get himself out of without help. Not that he couldn't get himself out if he wanted to, but it wasn't usually worth the effort. Besides, he'd need his hands to summon on of the Shikigami, commodity he didn't have at the moment. He searched around for a bigger ledge to get onto. "Yay!" he cried out as he finally spotted one and clapped his hands. This of course, resulted in him falling. He yelped and managed to grab back onto the rock and haul himself back up to his original position. "Phew..." he sighed heavily. Reluctantly, he started to climb up to the ledge a few feet above him. When he finally managed to reach the overhanging rock, he dropped down onto his back. "That was close..." he mumbled.

Notes: When a human dies, what becomes of their soul? Will it go to heaven or hell? Or will it become a ghost that wonders the world alone? Then what becomes of those who committed suicide? In this world, they descend to the underworld and are reborn as Shinigami, destined to take the souls of the dead and guide them, keeping the natural order.

When he was six years old, Izumi Lio committed suicide. The one thing he wanted as her stood on the train tracks was to see his mother smile again. She was smiling, but it didn't satisfy him. When he woke up, he was a Shinigami, reborn as Rio Izumi. Unlike the others, Izumi had all of his memories intact. They were supposed to make a Shinigami fragile, but Izumi felt his frozen heart could never let these painful memories leave him. So he adorned himself in yellow and black, the colors of the railroad crossing that sealed his fate. It was years later when Izumi saw his mother again. Her name was among those to die that day, and Izumi personally went to see her. He was hoping that seeing her smile one more time would melt the ice that kept him all of these years. She was smiling, but as his scythe ran through her, Izumi realized that it wouldn't save him.

Sometime after Izumi became a Shinigami, he was partnered with Meroko Yui. It wasn't long until Meroko fell in love with Izumi, finding something worth saving in him. Even though she confessed her love to Izumi time after time, Izumi never returned Meroko's feelings. When Takuto Kira became a Shinigami, the Boss had Izumi trick Meroko into becoming Takuto's new partner. He made Meroko believe that he was going to become Takuto's partner, breaking their group. When Meroko begged Izumi not to go, he made her believe he was going to meet her at the clock tower after he discussed the matter with the Boss. As she waited, Meroko was introduced to her new partner. Izumi only said to her her "I told you you'd regret it." As she ran off crying, Izumi only stared at her through the rain. He believe this would be the only way to make sure Meroko wouldn't be hurt because of him. He couldn't be true to himself, nothing more than ice that couldn't love.

When Takuto and Meroko became partners, Izumi realized he was actually in love with Meroko. She was the only girl who cried for him, and Izumi believes it's his duty to always protect her. After Takuto and Meroko were assigned to keep watch over Mitsuki, Izumi was sent to observe the pair. However, Izumi made it very apparent that he wanted Meroko back.

Izumi is not an evil person. Far from it. He had a very painful past, so he buried his emotions when he became a Shinigami. After he met Meroko, Izumi didn't know how to deal the the affection that she showed him. Izumi is extremely loyal to the boss, which is why he carries out his orders without a second thought. He comes off as cold, calculating, and mysterious, but he does have a kindness and gentleness to him. Izumi is very manipulative, and will often reverse a situation to further benefit himself.

Being a Shinigami, Izumi has wings, as well as the ability to fly. He is a dog Shinigami, with dog ears growing out of his head, but he keeps them hidden underneath his hat. He is invisible to everyone except for souls, but there seems to be a power that surrounds the school, making his visible to everyone. He can transform into a stuffed dog, but he can't speak in this form since it takes up too much energy.

After glancing over the letter that appeared in his hands when he arrived, Izumi carelessly tossed it aside and watched it fall from the top of the clock tower. He could only smile at himself and laugh at the situation her was in. "That's what happens when you take your eyes off of them for one minute. The rabbit thing was strange enough on its own. For a second, I thought it was another Shinigami coming to bother our set-up. Still.." The Shinigami stood up, easily balancing himself on the clock hand with the aid of his wings. "...the Boss isn't gonna be too happy with me if I'm gone for too long. Also, Meroko might need me around."

Izumi smiled when he said her name. He was frustrated that she could say she loved Takuto as easily as she said it to Izumi, but Izumi couldn't blame Meroko for that. It was him that abandoned her in the rain. Still, Izumi has sworn to take her back, and he wasn't going to let this stop him.

Notes: I am here applying for my third and final character, Dartz. He is a viiiiiiiillain~ Following the tradition of extremely odd people in YGO, he is the former king of Atlantis, and is about 10,000 years old (Physically, he is in his mid/late twenties; I don't think they age past that in Atlantis? Something like that.) He has spent much of his time after the downfall of Atlantis attempting to resurrect a dark god by sacrificing thousands of souls to it. He was the villain of the Doma arc, and regarded as one of the most truely sinister antagonists in the show. At the end of the Doma arc, he insists he's reformed... But then again, Dartz was a master of deception and lies.

Also, though this would make all three of my characters from YGO, there shouldn't be any conflicts. Both Mai and Atem had very horrible experiences with Dartz and will avoid him like the plague. XD

Notes: Relatively easy going, Fuji is an extremely observant player that can generally figure out what is happening on the courts faster than his colleagues. Though he is generally smiling, when he is either serious or angry his eyes open completely (they usually look like they're closed) and will bring doom to whoever dares to stand against him. He's called "Fuji the Prodigy" as he's known in the tennis world. Also...he is also the only person on the whole team who can stand Inui's deadly vegetable juice...except for this one time when they were bowling...

WARNING: Don't EVER get on his bad side...he might look like a sweetheart, but he in actually is actually the scariest person you could ever know!

Time period he's from - uhmmm...right up to before Season 5 (vs. Rikkaidai)

I. Your character finds themselves down at the shore [beach/cliffs/docks] when one of the storms rolls in.

Fuji looked out over the sea as he had gone down there to clear his mind before heading back to his dorm to get ready for his test tomorrow. It had been a difficult week for some reason, and he wasn't really in his right mindset that he normally was.

...and as he glanced towards the sky, he noticed thick dark clouds coming in as the wind picked up as well, as his hair tossed about around his head. A storm...just great. Even more of a sign of something bad to come. He didn't need one of his elder sister's fortune telling to let him know something was up.

The wind was strong, but not cold as his hair whipped around his head, temporarily blinding him a moment, before he brushed it aside. The weather was as unexpected as the people that kept appearing and disappearing from this world. What a mystery it was, and seemed to want to keep that mystery all to itself...

Whatever was up would probably happen anyway, but he would just need to keep his guard about him so he didn't get taken too much by surprise. He smiled to himself; now he was sounding like Tezuka.

Tezuka...he hoped he was doing all right. When the team had asked last, Oishi simply told them they needed to keep their focus and work hard. He was the only one to communicate with Tezuka.

Now he was thinking in the terms of a jealous girlfriend or something...ridiculous! However, he was the type of person who liked to check things out themselves rather than rely on word of mouth, although to go to Germany might be a bit troublesome...oh well...

Right then, the skies emptied out on and around him in a steady downpour as he wore his secretive smile all the way back to his dorm.

Character Name: Edward Elric
Character Series: Fullmetal Alchemist
Notes: Edward is the protagonist of FMA, and a very short one at that. Woe to those who mention anything about his height, because he’ll spare no punches for anyone who even so much as hint that he’s short (even though he’ll admit to himself and to those who are close to him, like his childhood friend Winry and his brother Alphonse).

He was virtually orphaned at eight or so, when his mother died- his father, Hoenheim, left when Edward was around 4 or 5, and didn’t return until the brothers were 14-15 years old. As a result, Edward and his brother tried to resurrect their mother using forbidden alchemy, only to end up losing two of Edward’s limbs and Alphonse’s body to the Gate, an other-worldly place where all transmutations (especially those of the forbidden kind) bypass; to add insult to injury, the creature they transmuted wasn’t even their mother, it was a monstrous amalgamation of flesh, and Alphonse had nearly been transmuted into it.

Edward was guilt-ridden by the knowledge that he caused his brother to be trapped in a suit of unfeeling armour because of his insistence that they resurrect their mother, and so he gains a set of automail limbs and sets out to take the National Alchemist exams so that he would become a State Alchemist and thereby have access to many exclusive books on alchemy.

Usually, Edward’s seen as a hot-tempered shorty who’s far too brash and smart for his own good. He’s a genius when it comes to alchemy, to the point where people have acknowledged him as a child prodigy, and because he has seen the Gate and the Truth of the world, Ed’s able to perform alchemy using only a clap of his hands to form an alchemic circle. However, to those who know him well, Edward is a walking guilt machine, and he frequently blames himself for things that would have happened anyway. Although he usually shows a somewhat grumpy attitude to things that he proclaims are troublesome, he’s really more bark than bite- he shows compassion to living things (when confronted with chimeras, he calls them human despite the fact that they’re technically only half-humans, and others would have just called them monsters), and the death of Nina and Alex (the daughter and dog of an alchemist who lent Ed and Al his library) traumatized him greatly.

Oh, to be back in Central. Edward never thought he’d ever even think Central was a sight better than Rizembul, but then he’d forgotten just how vicious Winry could get when she saw how battered his automail was.

“I tried to keep it unharmed, I did!” he yelped as he tried to dodge the various tools that were all targeted at his head right now, without much success- there were just so many that it just rained on his arms, and his left arm was still quite capable of feeling pain, thank you very much.

“That’s what you say all the freaking time!” Winry shrieked at him, the barrage of weapons never seeming to end. Edward dove behind the couch finally, waving a right arm in surrender.

“You’re going to spoil the automail that you’re screaming at me about if you throw any more of your wrenches at me, you automail freak,” he complained, and Winry barreled down on him glaring at her childhood friend, who was rather courageously trying not to cower behind the white couch. He succeeded for the most part, gold eyes flashing in self-righteous anger. Too bad his quivering was a little too obvious for Winry to be fooled.

“Get up and sit on the stool over there,” she said finally, after a long staring contest, and Edward heaved a sigh of relief, obeying her instructions. Geez, Winry was always like this.

But as he plunked himself down on the stool, he watched his friend bite her lower lip, and he looked away in slight guilt. It wasn’t so much the damaged automail (sometimes) that made Winry want to smack his head into the ground, he knew. Automail were supposed to be hardy things that could even outlast their owners if it were well-taken care off- so to see automail that was this damaged…

Winry must be really worried. Edward knew he would be, if their roles were reversed. Still, he couldn’t bring himself to properly apologize or even say anything about it, so he just kept his mouth shut and promised himself that he wouldn’t try to give Winry a heart attack the next time he came back to Rizembul.

In the English Duel Monsters anime, he is known as simply Bakura, and in the English Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul video game, Bakura's name is given in the traditional Japanese order and is rendered Bakura Ryo.

Eventually, Bakura's good side is almost entirely suppressed and he is continuously controlled by the spirit, except in rare moments where he is separated from the Ring or able to overpower the spirit.

Ryou's soft brown eyes drifted as he walked the paths of campus idly, surveying the other students. He felt a slight tinge of jealousy when he passed by three or four students sitting around a fountain, laughing and conversing with one another. Of course, he wasn't jealous of them because being jealous seemed kind-of rude--he was more envious really, envious because he hadn't been able to make a single friend here as of yet, nor had he found anyone he'd known in the past to even attempt to make a pathetic conversation with.

'Oh boo-hoo,' He thought to himself, finding his reason for being gloomy rather childish. He scolded himself, remembering that he had planned to be strong about this. So he didn't have friends yet; he would. He could make them; he really could! He bit his lip in thought, still eyeing the students. But what if...he didn't make any?

When one of the students looked his way, his eyes grew wide. He quickly looked away, flustered, eyes boring into the cement below him. He held his books tighter to his chest, feeling self-conscious. He was certainly no master of speech and had a hard time stringing words together when talking with strangers. How was he going to make something out of seemingly nothing?

Then again, being bummed over it didn't help either. His eyes hardened, puffing his chest out as he lifted his head to the sky. He was going to be brave this year. He was going to find someone interesting and introduce himself and force himself to talk to them! It was a fool-proof plan, really. Now all he had to do was find someone and find topics to bring up to keep a conversation going. His determined posture slumped forward, feeling anxious all over again. So it wasn't -that- easy, but...

He smiled to himself, satisfied. He took a deep breath, deciding to start upon his task. He could do this!

Character Name: Cho Hakkai (and Hakuryuu)
Character Series: Saiyuki
Notes: Hakkai, then known as Cho Gonou, grew up in an orphanage and only started to accept people and come out of his shell later in his life when he met Kanan. Unfortunately, since both he and Kanan were outcasts in the village he lived in, Kanan was sacrificed to demons in order to protect the town. In a fury, Hakkai vowed to save Kanan. He slayed all of the youkai in the process and later had to watch his love kill herself with his knife. During this, Hakkai ended up killing 1,000 youkai, therefore turning himself into a youkai. Shortly afterwards, as a way of atoning (though he wasn't really in his right mind) Hakkai almost tore out his right eye (this caused him to be basically blind in that eye). After he was "saved" by Sanzo, he changed his name to Hakkai. He lived with Gojyo, a good friend of his, until Sanzo returned and took both Hakkai, who always remained with Hakuryuu (a "dragon") and Gojyo along with himself and Goku on a journey to find out why all the youkai were losing their minds.
Sample Post: The light wind blew past Hakkai as he glanced around, still holding the bags of food he'd been carrying when Sanzo and the rest of the group had sent him off to the store. Where on earth was he? No place that he was familiar with. Strange. And hadn't he just been in the shopping district? "Well, this is new," he said with a light chuckle. "Any idea where we are Hakuryuu?" The little white dragon on his shoulder tipped his head lightly and then shook it back and forth. "Kyuuu?" Hakkai smiled. "Me either. I do hope that Sanzo is behaving." He rubbed the dragon's neck softly. "You know how he gets. Hopefully whenever we get back Goku and Gojyo will still be alive." He grinned. "Then again, I could use a vacation. They're all so troublesome." "Kyuu kyuu!" Hakuyruu replied, bobbing his head happily.

Notes: Komui is the Supervisor of the Black Order and Lenalee’s older brother. He’s a caffeine addict and a little lot on the crazy side. He’s loud, goofy and likes to run away from his work. He’s an expert procrastinator and mess maker; if you need an office trashed or something lost, he's your man! If someone touches Linali, they should prepare to meet his drill of doom.
On a more serious note, he’s a very intellectual person when it comes to machines and Innocence; he can build a robots from scratch… though rather that’s good or bad is still undetermined. Even though he acts goofy and carefree, don’t let him fool you, because when things get bad he can be a very dependable and serious person.

He likes to try a help people with his inventions. His inventions have other ideas.

Sample Post: The booming sound of jet engines shot through the cloudy sky. A trail of white smoke followed the path of a peculiar machine. The human shaped machine sped just below the clouds over the open ocean, speedily approaching a foreboding stretch far off in the distance.

A taller man sat inside the machine on a cushioned chair, his black hair carefully settled under a simple white beret, curls bouncing at the end as the machine swerved from side to side. His machine, Komurin Ex Version 2! (Now coffee proof! Booster jets included for extra destruction purposes. Warning: poor missile aim and devouring of notebooks may occur. Fashion beret not included.) A cup of steaming hot coffee fogged his glasses, but he didn’t care; it was his last cup before he’d have to switch to…decaf. The mere thought of this sent a shiver down his spine.

It doesn’t matter! He thought to himself with a strong, and forced, grin. I’m not going back until I find Linali! The others can take care of things while I’m gone, I’m sure Reever won't mind... much. His glasses gleamed in the dimming light from the small window on the obese robot’s side. He smiled at a picture (more like memorial) of Linali he’d set up in the front of Komurin. With a quick gulp from his mug, Komui slammed the cup down on the small table beside him.

“FULL SPEED AHEAD, KOMURIN!” He announced boldly. Komurin responded, but a sudden crack of thunder silenced its voice. Komui blinked and looked out the window, finally realizing that the white cotton ball clouds had become dark and dangerous. He shifted his glasses as a bolt of lighting darted across the sky ahead of them. Then, a thought crossed his mind:

Is coffee proof Komurin lightning proof?

Character Name: Gokudera Hayato
Character Series: Katekyou Hitman Reborn!
Notes: Gokudera is the self-proclaimed right-hand man to the current Vongola boss-in-training. He's an expert in explosives, particularly dynamite, to the extent that his nickname in the mafia world is 'Smokin' Bomb Hayato'. One running gag in KHR is Gokudera's ability to store a huge amount of dynamite all over his body; he tends to pull out tons of them at any given moment, particularly when he's offended.

He's very prickly and dislikes friendly interaction with most people, just barely getting along with most people in his class at Namimori. The only exception to his attitude is Tsuna, the boss he pledges undying loyalty to, and as the storyline progresses, his sense of protectiveness and camaraderie extends to the other Vongola guardians too, though he'd rather die than admit that.

The reason for his undying loyalty for Tsuna is because on the first day he touches down in Japan, he goes straight to Tsuna's school to challenge him to a duel, for the purpose of judging his worthiness to be the next boss. At some point, he gets so agitated that he pulls out too much dynamite at a go and he loses control. However, Tsuna's been shot and is in his Dying Will mode; he manages to defuse Gokudera's dynamite and thus save his life. The brilliant but severely lacking in common sense Gokudera then falls down at Tsuna's feet in grateful adoration, and he's been Tsuna's most adoring fan ever since.

Sample Post:
Oooh, he hated that baseball idiot hanging around the Tenth all the time, never mind that he was technically the Rain Guardian now, and that the guardians had every right to be around their boss. ('Sides, Gokudera would rather kill himself than let Hibari or that pineapple-head be Tsuna's constant companion. They were far too weird even by his mafia-numbed tastes.)

"Buzz off," he muttered, but Yamamoto didn't seem to catch him, so he gave up and went back to smoking his cigarette in sullen silence instead. Tsuna was saying something about school, and home... Gokudera kept an ear on the conversation between him and Yamamoto for a while, noting that his beloved Tenth really should have something other than onigiri for lunch some time, and that his math grade was slipping quite a bit. Time for some tuition.

But it wasn't until the name 'Reborn' and the word 'famiglia' came up that Gokudera perked up, a smile tugging at his lips. "Really, Tenth?" he asked, his entire face lighting up. "I think Reborn's right, you know. Now that you've gathered the guardians, you ought to think about adding to the famiglia. I mean, the old farts working for the Ninth aren't going to be around forever, and there's always going to be those not loyal to you..."

"Haha, Gokudera, that's some detailed game you're sett--"

"AND YOU SHUT UP!" Gokudera exploded, wishing he could throw something at the oblivious idiot's head while Tsuna tried, mostly in vain, to calm the volatile teenager down. "YOU KNOW IT'S NOT A FREAKIN' GAME, ARE YOU DOING THIS JUST TO DANCE AROUND ON MY NERVES? WHICH ARE REALLY FRAYED BY YOU ALREADY, BY THE WAY..."

Notes:
A witch with control over Sora and other’s memories, at least, that is how Namine saw herself as. A nobody born from Kairi’s heart, Namine is different from the others. Since Kairi has no darkness in her heart, Namine does not have the same ‘instincts’ as the other nobodies. Stained by darkness, yet shines with a brilliant light.

After Sora used the dark keyblade to release Kairi’s heart, Namine awakened in front of Castle Oblivion. Organization XIII took an immediate interest in this peculiar nobody, and imprisoned her on the thirteenth floor of Castle Oblivion. Not long after Sora arrived in the castle, Maluxia had Namine rearrange Sora’s memory, unlinking past ones and creating new chains. Namine knew what she was doing was wrong, that it was only helping Marluxia in his plan. But Namine, after being imprisoned for so long, wanted Sora to be with her. It took a gentle push from Axel to make Namine realize that she had to correct what she had done to Sora. When Marluxia was defeated, Namine gave Sora the choice to either cast away his old memories and remain with her, or allow her to reforge the chains of his old memories, destroying the ones she created. When Sora chose to have his old memories, Namine was a little heartbroken, for she was losing the first real friend she ever had, but she only smiled and assured him that she will put everything back the way it was. She left Sora with a promise that they will see each other again someday.

While Riku was lost in the darkness of the basement of Castle Oblivion, Namine chose to help him find his way. Riku was lost in the darkness, but it was Namine who helped him find the light. Finally reaching the Thirteenth Floor, Riku finds Sora in a pod with Namine standing beside him. Here, Namine gives Riku the choice to allow her to lock away his darkness. Riku rejects Namine’s offer and leaves Sora in her care until he wakes up.

One year later, Namine is still keeping her promise to Sora, rearranging his memories. In Twilight Town, Namine is also watching over Sora’s other half, Roxas. This time around, Namine is more open and smiles a lot more often. When Roxas begins to see Sora’s memories, Namine confronts the nobody, saying that she always wanted to meet him. Every time she tried to explain to Roxas who he really was, she was interrupted by either DiZ or Riku. In their final meeting, Namine makes a promise with Roxas that they will meet again, even if they didn’t recognize each other. In The World That Never Was, Namine reappears to help Kairi escape from the Organization XIII stronghold. She eventually helps the party escape as the world begins to collapse. She smiles at Roxas, telling him that they were able to keep their promise. She realized that she wouldn’t fade into darkness like the other nobodies, but she will live on as a part of Kairi and as a separate person.

NOTE: This Namine will appear about a year later after Kingdom Hearts 2.

The moon was full in the black night sky, illuminating the empty beach. The sounds of crashing waves played a beautiful melody among the darkness. The smell of salt filled the air, creating a scene of perfect serenity. The beach, however, was not completely empty. Breathing in the fresh salt air, the girl in white closed her eyes, recreating the events in her mind. But nothing came. Letting a long breath out, Namine opened her blue eyes to the moon high in the sky.

Taking out the letter again, Namine read the words illuminated with the moonlight. The letter made sense, but it still didn’t answer Namine’s question. Standing up, Namine began to stroll along the coast, the tide barely touching her feet. The breeze gently played with her hair, but Namine paid it little heed. She held her notebook close to her chest, something that still connected her to home. This was a different world, but as Namine looked at the night sky, she couldn’t help but ask the darkness:

“Where are the stars?”

Character Name: Sora
Character Series: Kingdom Hearts
Notes: Sora comes from a world called Destiny Islands and the first fourteen years of his life were somewhat normal. He spent many sunny days on the play island with Riku and Kairi, his two best friends, whom wanted to build a raft to visit other worlds. Someone might’ve told them to be careful what they wished for, because nothing prepared them for the wicked storm that racked their island. With the rain came Heartless and a keyblade, which chose Sora because he sided with light, rather than darkness like his friend Riku.

He became the keeper of worlds on his grand adventure to seal keyholes and open new paths to finish his journey, alongside Donald and Goofy, while searching for Riku and Kairi, since both had disappeared. The run-ins he had with Riku were anything but pleasant, but Sora was determined, he believed he could convince Riku to side with him, that he was just confused. Several battles between the boys later, before he even came close enough to Kairi to embrace her.

Her heart had been inside him all along. Selflessly, he unlocked his heart, turned himself into a heartless, and woke up Kairi from her slumber. She brought him back to his human form, and shortly after he set out to find Riku again. His best friend fought back against the darkness and together they closed the door to Kingdom Hearts, with Riku sealed inside with the King.

Kairi, on the other hand, was sent home to Destiny Islands. With her safe, Sora went on another journey with no recollection of the events at Castle Oblivion) – a hero’s work was never done. He needed to find Riku. It was during this one that he learned of a group called Organization XIII, Nobodies, bad people who were stealing hearts! And what was worse was, they didn’t have hearts. He annihilated most of them, without much, if any, remorse.

Axel was the only one he was on a talking basis with, but he was still an enemy. He had kidnapped Kairi, after all. He proved himself enough when he sacrificed his life and opened a portal into the World That Never Was. Sora met his Nobody, Roxas, there. It was inside Organization XIII's stronghold that he was united with his friends, Kairi first and Riku second. He learned then why Riku hadn't been able to face him, he was ashamed of giving into the darkness again, even if it had been to save Sora.

They salvaged the worlds yet again, only to end up on a darker beach, after having a portal shut on them once Kairi and the gang had already gone through. They shared their thoughts of envy and admiration, before they summoned the Door of Light and decided to go home together. Sora had been home on Destiny Islands with Riku and Kairi for several months, his birthday passed, and then a letter from the King arrived. But, somehow, he ended up at Moska University. Surely, that wasn’t what the King had meant, right?

Either way, it was a new adventure.

Sample Post: Sora really disliked storms. Not the rain, never the rain. Simple rain with a clear blue sky didn’t bother him at all, but a darkened sky with gray clouds and thunder, cold winds, and heavy rain made his heart clench. It reminded him of that first night back on the Islands, before everything started, before he lost Kairi and Riku forever, or so he had believed at the time.

It didn’t stop him from joining Riku in one half of the time. There wasn’t much he wouldn’t do to be with his friends. Not to mention, it reminded him of home.

Destiny Islands was bright and the closest thing to paradise Sora had ever known, but their storms were wicked and their tropical tempers were frightening. If he stood at the water’s edge and closed his eyes and just felt, he could believe he was home. Kairi and Riku at his sides, hand in hand, together.

He smiled, bittersweet, but it still looked peaceful on his face and sat down at the edge, sneakers barely grazing the water. “I wonder what she’s doing,” he thought, before glancing up at the dark clouds that trembled.

Sora was certain she was okay, she had to be! This was Kairi he was thinking of, she could handle herself, and if he said otherwise he knew he’d get a mouthful from her when he did see her again. He remembered the letter she had written and fondly stared out across the water this time. One sky, one destiny.

“I bet she’s doing the same thing, right now.”

He tried to think of just living in the moment, while knowing that he would get home, and frankly, he still believed that completely. It just didn’t stop him from thinking of his friends. And this world was just so weird! A lot different than any of the ones he had been to, of course, there had been heartless and he was always fighting then.

“Man, Riku’s gonna kill me if I stay out here too long, especially if I catch a cold.” He mused. It didn’t seem to bother him that he was talking to himself. He was social in nature and most of the time, he didn’t shut up. He rambled and asked too many questions, but that was what made him who he was.

The clouds gave a final rumble, before dumping the downpour on him.

“Jeez, couldn’t even get five minutes.”

Gloved hands pushed up off the sand and helped him to his feet with a small jump. He shook his head, knowing he would be soaked by the time he reached the campus again. He huffed a breath and broke into a sprint.
